Red Flag Warnings are back in the headline this Thursday as hot and dry conditions persist. If you've had enough of the blazing heat then good news remains in the general forecast; cooler temps are on the way, we just have to wait a bit before the cooler air heads our way. Temperatures will fall from above normal to below by early next week. Before we can celebrate cooler temps, we still need to get through a few hot and hazy days. Widespread haze can be expected once again thanks to wildfire smoke as moisture remains scarce. High pressure remains prominently in control which will help keep us mostly dry into the weekend. That being said, steadily, moisture will begin to move back into the region as the fall-like feel heads in for the next work week. This being said, some energy remains near the northwest portions of the state and although chances for a widespread precipitation event is low, isolated showers and storms may still develop coming into Thursday afternoon. Areas of higher elevation could also see a few convective builds, but again, isolated activity at best.
