It was nice to get a few spotty showers and storms across the state on Tuesday, but the sun has returned and with it another dry and hazy day is in store for us this Wednesday. We're still on track to experience cooler temps coming out the weekend, but we have to get there first. 90 degree temps will be sticking with us for the rest of the work week, steadily lowering as we approach the weekend, and alongside dry conditions lasting for the next 48 hours. With storm activity slowing down we can plan for another hazy day to accompany the heat and sun. California wildfire smoke continues to blow across the country and Utah remains caught in the crossfire. Limit your time outdoors if you're sensitive to particulates in the air, but if you have to be outside then do what you can to limit any strenuous activity. As always during the summer, be sure to stay hydrated too! Don't be surprised if a few spots of higher elevation see some pop-up showers and storms. Most of this activity will dissipate before making way into nearby valleys.
Drier conditions will persist for most of the state coming into the late work week but a few storm systems will develop over southern Utah prior to the weekend. Later in the weekend, more relief will come our way as cooler temps move in and a system of storms develop along the northern Rockies. This will keep us a tad cooler coming into the next work week as well.
